Snemand, in Danish, means Snowman. Quite appropriate for the last month of the year! The font is all caps, but upper and lower case letters can be interchanged and it includes alternates for all lower case letters.

Snemand is a very legible font and has that great ‘unevenish’ look - making it a great typeface for packaging and books.

Liquorice Twist Font Download

Liquorice Twist is a light-hearted fun font which developed from some hand drawn text designed to accompany and be integrated with some ‘Zen Doodling’ art that someone had drawn. It is very informal and unconventional, with the glyphs created using unusual and loose ‘rules’.

The font has a set of stylistic alternates with equal height lower-case letters.

It also has the option of alternate initial capitals and alternate ending lower case letters accessible via contextual alternates.

Foros(tm) is a modern humanist sanserif font family of 8 styles. Each style contains beside many other alternatives of upper and lowercase letters a ‘unicase’ character set. Foros is a development of a modern pattern of rough geometric shapes in combination with open humanistic forms that produces a mixture of obstinacy and delicacy.

Quadratic shapes of ovals bring stability and firmness, but angular terminals of diagonals in several letters together with curved junctions of bowls with verticals stems add emotions and elegance.

Such variety in image make it possible to use the fonts in different kinds of display typography. Foros type family was designed by Oleg Karpinsky. Released by ParaType in 2013.

Sigmund Freud was a neurologist who lived from 1856 to 1939.

His research and studies led to the foundation of ‘Psychoanalysis’.

When I first saw Freud’s century old letters, I was fascinated by the beauty of these historic manuscripts.

It made me smile to imagine a person writing his or her shrink a letter set in Freud’s handwriting. I started to plan creating a font based on his manuscripts. More…

To start the creation I selected eight handwritten documents from the archive in Vienna – This selection of specimen was my orientation during the design process. The Samples were created between 1883 to 1938 and are of various character such as handwritten scientific papers, personal letters, notes and a telegram.

After a year of preparation and design work, I finished four alphabets based on Freud’s handwriting.

What are the different Versions PRO, Kurrent, #1, #2, #3 and #4 about?

When you write a text on your computer every letter looks exactly the same. In order to make type look like handwriting, I chose four different variations of each letter from Freud’s manuscripts, drew and stored them in the font.

The font is then programmed to exchange letters while you are typing. This makes the rendered result on your screen or print look like unique handwriting.

Through this mechanism never the same two o’s will stand next to each other. With every touch a unique look is generated. This works in certain applications i.e. Word 2010(or newer), Pages, TextEdit, Editor(Pre-installed on Windows 7 or newer), InDesign, Illustrator… →Here you can see an animation of what this effect looks like in action.

Until the 1950′s a different handwriting was taught throughout German speaking countries (Switzerland, Austria, Germany). This style is called Kurrent. The name Kurrent and Cursive derive from the Latin word currere - to run, hurry - both styles were designed to write fast.

As you can see in the samples above, Freud practiced both Kurrent and when writing english Cursive (Latin script or Joined-up). Kurrent has three significantly different letters (s,h,e). Use Kurrent to render the authentic look of an historic Sigmund Freud letter in German.

Usage recommendations

Point Size — To reproduce the size of Sigmund Freud’s handwriting adjust the type size between 18-24 point in your word processor. If you are using an imaging software like Photoshop set the resolution to 300dpi and adjust the point size between 18-24.

Line Spacing — Narrow the line hight until swashes of capital letters touch the baseline above. This also happens when you write a letter and gives the document a unique handwritten look.

Right Aligned — Freud had the habit to write towards the right edge of the page and start loosely on the left. Set your text alignment to ‘right’ to incorporate this dramatic expression also to your documents.

The Version 1 font family is a mannered geometric linear-grotesque, hand drawn and developed by Oliver Jeschke and Oliver Mayer at Tatin Design Enterprises in Basel, Switzerland and Berlin, Germany.

It was created in a three-month training and was further developed in the later stages as OpenType font.

This type is gone away from the regular tempo of design and for the individual, to decorate with it , to be used for the headline, title and/or award areas.

Gluten is an family experimental font designed by Carlos Fabian Camargo. His fonts have irregular shadow to communicate craftsmanship. Its multiple upper cases with condensate width and naive lines are notable for their expressive drawing with high amount of contrast between thick and thin strokes.

We all love a good burger here at Vette Letters. We also love to prepare them ourselves. Grilling the paddies, cutting the tomatoes and cucumber, nothing beats a home made hamburger. And the best and tastiest way to grill a burger is on a wood charcoal grill.

So all in all we can safely say that burgers and wood are a pretty darn good combination. This made Donald Roos decide to design VLNL Woodburger, obviously based on 19th century American wood type alphabets.

Donald decided to add cyrillic characters, as he strongly believed that Russians would be equally partial to home made burgers.
VLNL Woodburger is not really polished font, it will give any design a rough sturdy edge.

Exuberantly delicious and lusciously sweet, VLNL Bon Bon embodies the perfect after dinner treat. Chocolate is a known aphrodisiac and bonbons are its most romantic carrier. Bonbon is not for nothing the French word for ‘good’ twice! You could definitely consider VLNL Bonbon the typographic equivalent of these exquisite chocolate sweets.

Inspired by lettering on an Amsterdam church facade and a ladies clothing store window, Donald DBXL Beekman started drawing the first incarnation of Bon Bon already in 2004. The original idea was an alphabet design with slanted oval inner shapes and extremely long and striking serifs.

This proved to be a quite demanding design job, so It took Bon Bon some time to get finished. But now it’s here in all its extravagant glory. Most recently a number of lowercase characters were added to make Bon Bon more versatile.

Totally insane and over-top-the-top it has been called. But hey, we all love Bon Bon. Don't we?

Wasabi is one of the key ingredients in the Japanese kitchen. Also known as japanese horseradish, it is an extremely spicy condiment made out of the graded root of the Wasabi plant. Its spiciness is different than that of a chili pepper though, more like a hot mustard.

The spicy taste shoots right through your nose, but does not last for long. Wasabi is traditionally used in sushi and sashimi dishes, soba noodles, and in a number of Japanese snack foods.

Equally sharp and stingy, VLNL Wasabi Turbo was designed by Donald Roos. Despite its japanese outward appearance, the font has its origin in lettering found on a German book. It is hot, and edgy like a samurai sword.

Wasabi Turbo will stand out as headline and logo!

Institut Font Download

Institut is an industrial-strength display face, with a no-nonsense feel of a research lab and audacity of a space mission control. Based on assertive geometric forms, it is suitable for a variety of on-screen and print uses.

Hand Of Sean was created from the designer’s own handwriting in 2008 for a personal project, but was made available to the public and quickly became very popular. The font was updated in 2013 with redrawn glyphs, improved spacing, better kerning and OpenType features.

NEW OpenType features: if you type two of the same letter, the font will automatically substitute with two slightly different characters to make the font look more natural.

Colon Mono Font Download

Colón Mono is a monospaced slab serif type family of eight styles. The typeface design was influenced by the nostalgia for the aesthetic of a typewriter.
Colón Mono is a counterpart to Colón sub-family and consists of two weights of roman and alternative styles and matching italics respectably.

Colón Mono is released in OpenType format with extended support for most Latin languages, and includes some opentype features.

COLÓN is a Slab Serif type family of three weights with matching italics. The typeface design was influenced by the nostalgia for the aesthetic of a typewriter.
Colón extended family consists of two sub-families: Colón Mono with monospaced glyphs sets, and Colón (proportional glyphs sets) which is presented in these specimen pages.

Colón is released in OpenType format with extended support for most Latin languages, and includes some opentype features – such as proportional/tabular figures, slashed zero, ligatures, fractions, etc.

Stiana font is a venetian serif in modern design. The general idea was inspired by beautiful masterpieces of Nicolas Jensen and William Morris. Stiana holds fine, balanced readability of venetian serif, and both 21st century trends.

Letterforms are expressive and bold enough to use font as display, but it also fits nicely for text.

Toms Finger Family fonts is a hand drawn sans serif series containing Regular weight (Toms Finger), Bold weight (Toms Thumb), and Light weight (Toms Pinky).
Drawn entirely using his finger tip on a tablet Tom created this font to be user-friendly for Notes, Signs, Posters, Ads, Captions or anything where the writer wants to convey a casual, non invasive voice in the copy.

Toms Finger Family is legible in a wide range of sizes in all weights.

After my son was born, I found myself reading him a lot of books. A LOT of books.
Some were good, some were great, but I found myself wanting to develop something using my skills and interests to make something that only I could make.

In short, I realized my son needed to be indoctrinated--I mean, introduced into the wonderfully wild world of fonts.

I've made the captivating illustrations bright and colorful, and the use of different letter forms makes for a fascinating read to delight ages young and young at heart.
And, as an added bonus, this children’s book has a custom designed font.

This new serif typeface incorporates the latest research on typographic legibility for children, features to make it--well, extra legible. A little background: studies show that Bookman Old Style is one of the most readable typefaces, and as a consequence or perhaps the reason why, it is used thoroughly for childrenís books.

This font became my initial inspiration for the typeface. Then, I found more legibility research saying that (brace yourselves) Comic Sans is also very legible for beginning readers, much due to the large x-height and softer, easily recognizable forms.

In addition, forms that are closer to handwriting also seem to be more legible. Once I threw all that into my cauldron and stewed it a bit, the result was a pleasantly rounded typeface that includes not-so-strictly geometric, handwriting-inspired forms for the b, d, p, and q.

Splash a little more color on the page with the firmer look of the thicker weights. Cabrito’s upright variations across all weights are matched by optically altered italics, too, giving you even more variety with the font family.

Mensura Slab Titling is the display version of Mensura Slab Font Family, it has been designed for Graviton Font Foundry by Pablo Balcells in 2014.

Mensura Slab Titling consists of 12 styles including italics.

The styles included in the font have been design to complement the text version of Mensura Slab, and to give headlines, logos, and other short length text displays, a playfull and stylish look.

Sardis is based on a family of wood type called “Lydian,” designed for American Type Founders Company by Warren Chappell in 1938. The strokes have angled ends, referencing the use of a calligraphy nib.

Old Style is an example of classic roman type design. It has little contrast in stroke weight, small rounded serifs, open characters, and is very easy to read. It is based on wood type of unknown origin.

»Dylan« is a Sans typeface in the best American tradition. In order to keep corners open and to make the font more readable in small sizes it has deep cuts where curves join straights. I designed 7 finely tuned weights with fitting italic sets.

The fonts includes full smallcaps, language support for most European languages plus Turkish, many fractions, nominator and denominators, Greek mathematical signs and many currency symbols.

It is a versatile font that is well suited for many occasions, even for signage.

Archivio is a neutral font family based on the sans-serif typefaces of the early 20th century. Geometric letter forms are combined with some humanist touches creating a clear and legible typeface.

Archivio family includes Sans, Slab, Italic, Back-slant and other experimental versions. Manually edited kerning and Opentype features with amazing swashes, alternates and beautiful ornaments, It was designed for display and text usage.
