In 2012 Schwäbisch Gmünd will celebrate its 850th anniversary, and in 2014 it will be host town to the State Garden Show of Baden-Württemberg. These both celebrations have been the background to create a special font for my home town and give it the town’s ancient name.

Grit Primer Font Download
Grit Primer is a distressed, aged typeface resurrected from letterpress samples of schoolhouse primers common in the midwest around the turn of the century. Additional characters are also included in this expansive offering.
Grit Primer offers the charm of handset type as well as slightly offset baseline characteristics and a rough-hewn character easily visible at larger point sizes, hence the name.
Imperio Font Download
Imperio is a font inspired by old posters, especially those related to constructivism and futurism. It reflects both the rationalism of Bauhaus as a propagandist and revolutionary spirit of an era. Blackbarry NF Font Download

Deutsch Black, designed by Barry Deutsch for VGC in 1966, provided the inspiration for this extrabold exercise in heavy ink coverage. A number of variants, in lowercase slots, were added to offer flexibility to your headline designs. Both versions include the complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1254 character sets, as well as localization for Moldovan and Romanian.

This loopy offering is patterned after a typeface from the 1888 specimen book from the Central Type Foundry of St. Louis, called simply “Spiral”. The ragged contours on the original face have been smoothed out, but it still is an attention-getter.
Alter Headletter Font Download

This is Alter Littera’s second original design. It started as an attempt at translating into roman forms the lowercase metrics of classic blackletters, in particular those of The Oldtype “Alter Gotisch” Font. Eventually, the design process led naturally to an innovative and modern re-creation of the overall forms and style of classic bold condensed letters from the early twentieth century, especially those of the “Century Bold Condensed” type from American Type Founders (ATF) Company’s American Specimen Book of Type Styles, Jersey City, 1912 (pp. 274-7) [also seen in McGrew, M. (1993), American Metal Typefaces of the Twentieth Century, New Castle: Oak Knoll Books (pp. 76-7)].

PF Haus Square Pro Font Download

The minimal character of this typeface with its direct reference to Bauhaus, manages to keep the balance between strict geometric structure and elegance. It strays from monotonous repetitions and works equally well with Latin and Greek, while it really hits home with Cyrillic.
Office Stamps JNL Font Download

Office Stamps JNL is a collection of twenty-six images recreating the familiar ‘stock’ rubber stamps used in offices for decades before self-inking stamps and desktop printing made them relics of the past. Modeled from vintage sources, all of the images have been re-drawn by Jeff Levine to have a crisper look than simply utilizing scanned imprints of old marking devices.
Gaiety Girl Font Download
Gaiety Girl and Gaiety Girl Inclined are based on the poster lettering of English artist Dudley Hardy.
Hardy was one of the best of the English poster designers of the 1890s. Although he is not known to have designed a formal typeface as such, he developed a distinctive lettering style that he used, with variations, on most of his posters. This font family is inspired by that style, drawing from several of his posters. It is named after his well-known 1894 poster for the musical comedy A GAIETY GIRL.

Quiller is another catch from the hot metal days, another one that managed to slip through the fingers of both the photo-typers and digitizers of last 4 decades.
JJ Sierke’s Privat design from 1966 is now resurrected and heavily extended to be used by computer users everywhere. The original design was revived, and two whole new fonts were added to it - one with very unique swash caps and alternates, and one with many many ligatures and letter-combination ornaments. More…
