I am Matthew Eagles, I am someone who believes himself to have very neat handwriting ... and here is the font! The letters have been neatened and made with a thicker weight, but the result is still comparable with my own handwriting. Despite coming top of the class at primary school in joined-up writing, I've always preferred to print my letters, and prefer to see fonts that are easy to read. One of my favourite fonts is Gill Sans, and perhaps some elements of that come through in my handwriting, but the resulting style of the “Matthew” font all looks original, I'm glad to say. I see it as a Sans Serif font with quirky appeal.
Wevli has an inky technical pen look that leans toward futurism. Razor-sharp vertices mingle with quarter-squared bowls to contrast with the profusion of rounded forms, yet compliment them at the same time. Wevli is deliberately inconsistent, with one effect in mind—to get the eye’s attention and force the consumer (victim) to read your message.
This modular font is an experiment in simplicity - there are only 2 shapes in the entire font. Good for headline/display use.
