Cubiculum is a clean revival of a kind of font that was widely available for different electronic typewriters in the 80s and early 90s. Typically, each manufacturer had their own slightly different design, and also their own name for this font: commonly known as Cubic, it was also marketed as Techno, Report, Block, and Quadro.
Whatever the name, what they all had in common was their clean, crisp squareness, which managed to be at the same time technical and personal, strict and friendly, reminiscent as much of the 60s as of the future.
This is a set of ornaments inspired by the art nouveau style. Frames, corners, rules and flowers are included.
Based on wood type designed by William H. Page & Company in 1872, Aldine Extended is one of many variations within the Aldine family. The characters are extremely wide relative to their height, and have heavy, thick serifs.
Aldine was extremely popular in broadside printing during the late 19th century and conveys America’s enthusiastic westward expansion.
French Clarendon was an extremely popular wood type font. Characters are heavy and condensed with bracketed serifs, which measure approximately 1/4 to 1/3 the height of the letter. Dozens of decorative wood type designs have been created based on French Clarendon.
It was marketed as a wood letter by William H. Page & Company in 1865.
French Antique was first shown in the specimen books of William H. Page & Company in 1869. The font is extremely tall and thin, with serifs taller than many character’s widths. Lines are straight and clean with no fuss.
French Antique can fit a lot of headline into a small space.
Egyptian Ornamented is a decorative font based on the shapes found in a French Clarendon. Serifs are chunky and bifurcated, and “spurs” have been added to the strokes. This font emits the feeling of Old West wanted posters, rodeo broadsides, etc.
It was first introduced by William H. Page & Company in 1870.
Arcadian was first produced in wood type around 1870 by William H. Page & Company. It is a semi-ornamented face based on a French Clarendon, with dots added to the median and the tops and bottoms of the letters.
It has a distinctly “Old West” feel, and was likely used to add a little pizzazz to advertising and broadsides of the time.

Tuscan X Condensed (whose actual name is Gothic Concave Tuscan Extra Condensed) was first produced in wood type by William H. Page & Company around 1872. The design is derived from a Gothic Condensed typeface, but with vertical stokes bowing inwards at the center.
We modified the weight of the uppercase characters (since the original wood type has a lowercase much thinner than the caps) to harmonize with the lowercase when used digitally.
Norwich Aldine Reverse is a font of “streamer type” (type reversed out of a solid) originally designed around 1872. Norwich Aldine is slightly lighter and more open than Aldine. It features medium stroke contrast, heavy serifs, and large rounded bracketing where the stems meet the serifs.
Our version is based on wood type of unknown origin. We created dozens of special ligatures to reduce problematic kerning encountered with a monospaced reversed type.
